Date Days

The first Wed. after we got married we started doing Parent Date Days! Michael thought of it because I basically had a break down and felt like the kids were not getting enough alone time with both of us because they are always playing with each other. So now every Wednesday we alternate kids and we take them out to do something one on one.

The first date day I went on was with Rylan. I asked what he wanted to do and he said that he wanted to go get a burger at The Game across the street and then go to look at video games at the store.
He made me multiple choice math problems on his kid menu and got to play Yoshi's New Island at Target.
It's turning out to be such a wonderful experience! We really get to connect with each kid and make them feel special!
Michael took Lee to get pizza at Zeeks where they colored together and then went to the park.

The next date day I had Lee. We went to Kidd Valley which is special to me because when I was little I used to ride my bike down to the exact same one with my mom and she would let me choose a shake to share with her! So of course I had to get us a shake! We shared a small strawberry one and he got grilled cheese and I got fish n chips. I brought a bag of art supplies and games. Lee came up with an adorable idea to draw portraits of each other! And at one point while we were there he actually told me that that day was the best day of his life! (my heart melted)
Michael & Rylan went to Alderwood Mall ate dinner at Blazin Onion and then walked around to a few stores then came back to the starbucks that is across the street from our house and played a new game called "Guess Who?" that Rylan loved! <3

The next date day I had with Rylan was yesterday! Since I had to go to the post office to drop off some jewelry orders and we didn't have much money to be going out to dinner I took him across the street from the post office to a cute coffee shop called Lyons Den. I got him a steamed milk and a day old muffin (50% off woot!) and we drew together for awhile. I drew a picture of him and he drew some pretend maps. Then we played a new game of Spiderman UNO at first I let him win but then once he got it down I didn't have to let him win any more he just won! He was excited that I let him get his own water out of the dispenser he had and got some for me too. When I was drawing a picture of him I complained that it wasn't looking like him. He said, "That's ok it doesn't have to look like me really! It's art" I loved that!

Michael and Lee went to the Starbucks across from our house and also played a game. And Michael gave Lee some change to buy his own muffin with! He first gave them 2.45 and the total came out to be 2.46 and Lee handed them a penny without any help!
